Wisconsin to Table: Uncle Mike’s Maple Syrup

The start of April means we are featuring a new Wisconsin to Table dish at Grey Rock. This month, our chefs have created a dish using Uncle Mike’s Maple Syrup from Birnamwood, WI.

Uncle Mike’s Maple Syrup is the main ingredient in the maple blueberry chutney sauce that will be served over cedar plank salmon.

The Uncle Mike’s homestead is located in Northern Shawano County where every spring they are busy at work tapping their sugar maples. Each 40 gallons of sap is boiled down over hardwood fires to produce roughly 1 gallon of finished product. The only additive to their maple syrup is hard work, dedication, and the ability to call their product 100% Pure Wisconsin Maple Syrup.

This dish is only available until April 28, 2018. Make your plans now to come to dinner at Grey Rock between now and the 28th to try the Cedar Plank Salmon with Maple Blueberry Chutney sauce and rice pilaf.

Grey Rock is open for dinner Thursday through Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. The piano bar opens at 4:30 p.m. and features live entertainment every Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. Be sure to check out our Grey Rock #HappyHour every Thursday and Friday from 4:30 – 6:30 PM that features a specialty charity drink by Bernie the Bartender.
