Have an Amazing Golf Outing in Green Lake, Wisconsin
09 Jun, 2016
Wisconsin is home to incredible golf courses featuring challenging holes, fascinating history, unique designs and breathtaking scenery. Did you know that in Green Lake alone, we have three area courses within a 15 minute drive? These 99 holes vary in style and can appeal to any skill level.
Today we’d like to share with you a few tips of how to have an amazing golf outing during your Heidel House stay. While all courses are worth visiting, there’s no one better to highlight than our neighbors just across Illinois Ave.: Tuscumbia Country Club.
Founded in 1896, Tuscumbia is actually the oldest championship golf course in the state! It began with just six holes, but expanded to nine in 1905 and added a second nine by 1919. World War II brought hardship, with limited fuel resources and drafted grounds crew members. Tuscumbia persevered and has seen its way through various club houses, renovated holes, the addition of motorized golf carts and much more. It remains a treasured piece of Wisconsin’s history.
Tuscumbia is surrounded by grand evergreens, maples and towering oaks that envelope you in a landscape of natural beauty. But don’t be fooled by its straight, immaculately maintained greens, the course has its challenges, including tight fairways and strategically placed bunkers. What’s best, Tuscumbia’s links are challenging enough for the skilled golfer but approachable enough for beginners. A special feature for families is their 9-hole, par 3 executive course. Each way is 100 or so yards, making it easier and faster for younger golfers.
When you’re planning an outing, nobody wants to worry about transportation arrangements. Take away the hassle and keep the crew together on Tuscumbia’s new 20 passenger Majik bus! With prior arrangements, Heidel House guests will be picked up right outside the lobby and transported directly to Tuscumbia’s club house.
Win a Car!
Throughout the 2016 golf season, included in your daily greens fee is an entry in Tuscumbia’s popular Ace In The Hole contest. Any golfer who hits their ball in the 3’ circle qualifies to win a variety of prizes from Green Lake area businesses, including cars or a dune buggy, courtesy of Ripon’s Homan Ford, Ripon’s GM and Pro Motor Sports.

The size and purpose of your group can determine your overnight arrangements. Heidel House golf packages are a great option for more intimate gatherings, with special golf rates built right in. Be sure to ask for a voucher at the front desk.
Corporate groups, family reunions and other larger functions that require 10 or more rooms per night are welcomed to reserve a specially priced room block through the Heidel House sales team. Your sales manager will also assist in planning the details of your event.
