Grey Rock Restaurant Features Wisconsin Beef in April Special

Grey Rock Restaurant in Green Lake, WI rolls out their latest Farm to Table feature, showcasing Gaffney Family Cattle, sourced locally from Barneveld, WI.

The farm was originally set up for dairy cattle and other livestock, but has since been changed to meet the needs of the growing cattle herd.

Gaffney Family Cattle was founded in 1976 when owners Jerry and Nancy moved to Wisconsin from the Adams Brothers & Company Hereford Ranch in Kilgore, NE. All that they brought with to begin this new farm was 40 Horned Hereford cows and their children. Since then, the farm has grown to a 180 cow herd and is still counting.

Currently, their operation is included in the Linz Heritage Angus program which specialized in 100% breed specific Black Angus. Only five farms in the state of Wisconsin are included in this program. Gaffney Family Cattle utilizes the latest technology and genetics to keep their herd healthy as well as high quality.

They attribute much of their success to friends and family, as well as the variety of industry activities that they strive to be active in as much as possible. They are involved with American Angus Association, Wisconsin Angus Association, Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association and the Iowa County Cattlemen’s on top of producing high quality beef.

Their motto is: “In the end we need everyone talking about sustainable U.S. beef! It is Our Business. Our Livelihood.”

You can try Gaffney Family Cattle’s beef in Grey Rock’s latest Farm to Table special. Bacon, Cheddar and Onyx Black Ale by Point Brewery come together for a mouthwatering combination that is cooked into strip steak and served with savory garlic mashed potatoes.
